Standard Features & Options
Beginning with the LX trim, standard offerings include body-colored exterior detailing, heated side mirrors, a USB/auxiliary input jack, air conditioning, a trip computer, 15-inch steel wheels, a black mesh grille, four speakers, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, a tilt steering wheel, and cloth seat trim. You can step up this base trim by adding on the optional LX Power Package, which adds power windows and door locks, as well as Keyless Remote Entry.
The following EX trim builds on the LX by adding or upgrading. It sports chrome detailing around the black mesh grill, an upgraded audio system with AM/FM/CD/MP3 and SiriusXM radio features, an upgraded speaker system, Bluetooth Wireless Technology for cell phone syncing, steering wheel-mounted Bluetooth and cruise controls, power windows and door locks, Keyless Remote Entry, a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, a center console, premium cloth knit seat trim, and metal-finish interior accents. This trim offers the optional EX Convenience Package, which approaches premium trim features by adding many SX-standard features, including larger wheels, an upgraded Infotainment Center by UVO, a rear camera display, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and gearshift knob, fog lights, and a soft-touch dashboard.
The premium SX trim follows suit by adding larger 17-inch alloy wheels, an upgraded sport-tuned suspension, side mirror turn signals, fog lights, front LED accent lights, LED tail lights, dual exhaust tips, a UVO Infotainment System, a rear-camera display, a more detailed meter cluster, automatic headlights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob, a soft-touch dashboard, and metal pedals. The SX also offers an exclusive upgrade package: the optional Premium Package adds features that include a Sirius navigation system, remote start, leather seat trim, heated front seats, and a power sunroof.

The 2012 Kia Rio comes standard with dual front advanced airbags, duel front seat-mounted side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, three-point seat belts for all seats, front seat belt pretensioners, four-wheel anti-lock brakes, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, side-impact door beams, front and rear crumple zones, a Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) system, and rear child-safety door locks.
