Kia Tasman: Revolutionizing the Truck Segment in Lynchburg, VA

The Kia Tasman: Trucks Reimagined

Say hello to the latest addition to the pickup category – and the first of its kind in Kia history – the 2026 Kia Tasman. This bold and confident entrance into the truck market is unlike anything you’ve ever seen and is sure to capture your attention. The body-on-frame pickup offers multiple powertrain options, is a capable tower, and offers an elegant interior. Three trim levels are available – Baseline, X-Line, and X-Pro – meaning there’s a 2026 Kia Tasman for every kind of driver. Explore what this unique and head-turning pickup truck offers.

Jam-Packed Performance

The 2026 Kia Tasman is available in two powertrain options: a gas-fed 2.5-liter that generates 277 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque and a diesel 2.2-liter mill that generates 207 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. The gas powertrain is married to an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel powertrain uses either an eight-speed automatic transmission with three pedals or a six-speed manual transmission. Its strong body-on-frame construction is independent of the front suspension. It has a leaf-sprung solid rear axle and can tow a whopping 7,716 pounds.

The base trim has standard rear-wheel drive, while the higher trims have standard all-wheel drive, and rear-wheel is optional. Those who like to head off into the great outdoors will mesh well with the X-Pro trim. Designed for off-road excursions, the X-Pro features 17-inch wheels and all-terrain tires, an electronically locking rear differential, exclusive drive modes, and a 1.1-inch lift that results in 9.5 inches of ground clearance. The 2026 Tasman can also brave up to 32 inches of water.

Multiple accessories are available to enhance the driving quality of the 2026 Tasman. You can have your Tasman upgraded with a ladder rack, a sport bar, beadlock-style wheels, and side steps. You can also configure the Tasman as a single cab on the base trim. There are also single- and double-decker add-ons. The single-decker includes a canopy and a rack, while the double-decker includes a cargo box and a tonneau cover.

Unbeatable Interior

The layout of the all-new Tasman is certainly something worth talking about. Symmetrical and clean, the dashboard features a large glass panel that holds the 12.3-inch gauge cluster and the 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Technology features include Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, dual wireless charging pads, and an eight-speaker Harman/Kardon stereo.

The controls in the Tasman are easy to decipher and probably familiar (you may have seen them in other Kia models) and provide a simple adjustment period once behind the wheel. A column-mounted gear selector meshes well with the occasional physical buttons.

Storage in the front is convenient and useful. One example of this is the center console, which has a cover that folds open to create a makeshift table. The rear seats recline, and there’s approximately one cubic foot of storage space underneath them.
